With a substantial impact in the aeronautical industry, the technological evolution has put a permanent challenge on Infrastructures, Operations and Air Transport Systems. By systemically framing this reality, the Airport Operation intends to develop, on the one hand, critical reasoning around the matter and, on the other hand, the competencies that allow taking the most appropriate options when confronted with decision-making processes in real scenarios.

Considerable changes in favour of automation and digitalisation have taken place in the last years of airport operations. However, there is still a long way to incorporate all available data into one big data database, show information, and interpret those in real-time to add value to day-to-day operations. The AIROBS partners will evaluate how new technologies can benefit airports and how these technologies can be smoothly integrated into airport processes so that a high level of safety, security and passenger experience is guaranteed.
